QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk much of the time during the day.
2. Must be able to tolerate hot and humid conditions.
3. Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
4. Must have manual dexterity to handle knives and other pieces of equipment.
5. Is able to work calmly and complete jobs in a timely manner, even under sometimes stressful
conditions.
6. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building Kitchen Manager
SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB GOAL: in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school
system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in preparing large amounts of food including meats, vegetables, sauces, gravies by
using appropriate methods and standardized recipes.
2. Assist with serving, kitchen clean up, and the cleaning of equipment and utensils used in food
preparation.
3. Assists with setting up of service areas, and cleaning and storing of eating equipment.
4. Recognizes properly prepared food items by sight, taste and smell.
5. Is knowledgeable in the uses of convection ovens, steamers, steam kettles, slicers.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 175 Contract Days + 14 hrs required training. Work year as established
by the Board of Directors. Wage established by district adopted salary schedules.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on
Evaluation of classified staff.
