World Language Teacher (French .6 FTE)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum BA degree
- Endorsement for world language area
- Experience teaching in Junior High or High School Preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.

SUPERVISES: n/a
JOB GOALS: To provide activities in the classroom in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach courses in world language utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Directors and appropriate instructional objectives as guidelines in teaching individual course content.
- Develop lesson plans and appropriate aids utilizing effective teaching techniques to stimulate and maximize learning.
- Establish clear objectives for each lesson and communicate objectives to students.
- Plan effectively and purposefully, utilizing long-range plans which are compatible with building and district goals
- Diagnose the needs and levels of performance for each student and appraise student work and progress.
- Implement an effective assessment system.
- Define classroom expectations and uphold them.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior necessary in order to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with staff, parents, students and administrators.
- Work cooperatively with students, parents, staff and administration to alleviate concerns and problems.
- Supply frequent and timely feedback to students, parents and counselors regarding student progress.
- Maintain professional competencies through in-service education activities provided by the school district and in self-selected professional growth activities.
- Assist in the selection and requisition of books, instructional aids and instructional supplies according to the policies of the school and the district.
- Maintain required inventory records.
- Supervise students during out-of-classroom activities during the assigned work day.
- Provide for student needs and cooperate with other professional staff in assessing and helping solve student health, attitude and learning problems.
- Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs.
- Fulfill conditions of employment as outlined in the negotiated agreement.
- Keep current on the integration of technology in your foreign language classes.
- Other duties as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
186/184 Contract Days. Salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District’s policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
